Specialized in the production of beer, cider and soft drinks, Edwin Holden's Bottling Company is known for the quality of the service offered: from bottling to labelling, up to packaging and storage. Ideally placed in the West Midlands, they have a strong locational advantage for all of the UK for both delivery and distribution of products.

Having invested in a Robopac Masterplat semi-automatic pallet wrapper several years ago and found it to be reliable and hard wearing, Edwin Holdens Bottling approached Robopac to consider other options for end of line solutions, that were just as powerful and easy to manage. Initially they were focused replacing an aging-built packer as its efficiency and cost of parts were becoming a burden on the business.

After studying the line and the layout of the plant, Robopac were able to identify the new Prasmatic TC Series as best solution to suit the customer’s needs. Prasmatic TC provides the best flexibility to run a variety of formats from 8 pack to 24 pack in tray and shrink, with a fast automatic changeover, easy access to the change parts and operator friendly HMI panel.

During the development of the project, Robopac highly specialized technicians noticed that Edwin Holdens had an existing robot palletizer which, due to the available space, could only stack a pallet, once stacked the operator had to perform a second task of removing the stacked pallet, placing it onto a semi-automatic pallet wrapper and waiting for the pallet to be wrapped.

To optimize this production phase, Robopac proposed a solution that alone is able to carry out all the required activities in a small space: Robopac Palwrapp, the compact palletizer with integrated stretch wrapper fitted the bill in being able to undertake all the tasks required and fitting the footprint of the old Robotic solution.

Therefore, thanks to the implementation of a compact end line, consisting of a Prasmatic TC300 and the Robopac Palwrapp palletizer that work together, Edwin Holden's Bottling Company has experienced increased productivity, improved changeover time and minimum operator intervention.

The case of Edwin Holden once again confirms Robopac's role as a supplier of innovative technologies for secondary packaging. Robopac’s main goal is to provide complete solutions that meet every single need and can increase productivity, reduce consumption, ensuring that every customer is completely satisfied.
