This is an important annual event in Latin America organised by Softys, a CMPC group company that, for more than 100 years, has been dedicated to personal care through highly sustainable solutions, producing and marketing wood products, cellulose, health care products, non-home care products and tissue paper.
Tissue paper is at the heart of the Softys Business Unit, a leader in South America with over 40 years of experience in the development of personal care solutions, with several hygiene and cleaning brands.
During the last edition of the competition dedicated to suppliers and strategic partners, Robopac and OCME were nominated and awarded second place in the INNOVATION section for the technological excellence demonstrated in end-of-line packaging solutions, characterized by a strongly automated and digitalized approach with a marked green orientation. This is a very decisive vocation for a One Global Company like Aetna Group - of which Robopac and OCME are leaders - which aims at a constant improvement in efficiency and productivity to ensure its future sustainable growth.
With Softys, Robopac and OCME collaborated in 2021 for a supply allocated to the Santiago de Chile plant.
Specifically, three palletising islands have been installed with Pegasus, the OCME-branded robot palletiser that combines high speed with great flexibility, making it the ideal solution for handling different types and formats of products in a very short time. The packaging process, on the other hand, was entrusted to the Genesis Thunder wrapping machine, a rotating ring machine from Robopac that wraps and stabilizes loads on pallets with stretch film. Genesis Thunder features Cube TechnologyTM, Robopac's patented system for the correct application of stretch film.
This system allows the stretch film handling values to be changed up to 12 times during the wrapping cycle, directly from the control panel. A solution designed to guarantee accurate film application and to significantly reduce material consumption, by 20 to 70% compared to traditional trolleys, in favor of quality and reliable optimization of the entire process.
