The collaboration between Aetna Group and Mondi Group represents a clear example of how technological innovation and sustainability can integrate effectively into a real production context, generating measurable value for both companies.
The project was carried out at the Mondi Lembacel plant located in Bétheniville, France, a strategic site within Mondi Group's European production network, operational since 1985. This facility specializes in the production of paper bags, pinch bags, and industrial bags, and is a reference point for paper-based industrial packaging solutions.
Mondi Group is one of the leading global multinationals in the paper-based packaging and kraft paper production sector. The Group is internationally recognized for its strong commitment to developing sustainable solutions for multiple industrial sectors, including manufacturing, e-commerce, food, and retail.
In this scenario, the collaboration with Aetna Group is backed by a shared vision: reducing environmental impact and adopting increasingly efficient, automated, and sustainable technologies.
The SolutionRobopac, one of the main brands of Aetna Group, is leading the project through the installation of the Technoplat 3000 PWJ, an advanced automatic station for wrapping pallets with paper reels.
Designed to meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging solutions, the technology uses 100% recyclable materials and ensures reliable load stabilization.
- Up to 750 pallets per reel without material replacement.
- Use of high-extensibility and high-strength paper.
- Improved transport safety and load stability.
- Advanced control system with touch screen.
- Integrated Cube Technology for optimized wrapping management.
The installation took place in December 2025, marking an important upgrade in the management of the plant's end-of-line operations.
“This partnership represents a key step to validate the machine's performance and to check its efficiency under high-production conditions.”
Robopac's management focused on key aspects such as process stability, operational efficiency, wrapping quality, and the machine's integration capability within existing production lines.
Sustainability and Performance ResultsAs highlighted by Julien Frachou, Logistics Manager at Mondi Lembacel:
“The company has always aimed to anticipate market needs and implement solutions with a reduced environmental impact, in line with the MAP 2030 program, which focuses on logistics, transport, and product packaging.”
As a paper manufacturer, Mondi naturally oriented its strategy towards paper-based solutions. Thanks to the collaboration with Aetna Group, it was possible to introduce a technology capable of ensuring up to 10% material extension capacity using fully recyclable paper while improving pallet stability, a critical factor during transportation.
- 50% of the plant’s pallets are already wrapped with paper.
- Target of 80% within the next year.
- Improved pallet stability during logistics operations.
- Reduced dependence on plastic-based packaging materials.
- More sustainable and efficient end-of-line processes.
The experience has proved highly positive and has strengthened the intention to continue the collaboration with additional end-of-line solutions and automated transport systems.
A Partnership Looking AheadThe results obtained confirmed the reliability of the proposed solution, highlighting the ability of the Technoplat 3000 PWJ to guarantee high performance while contributing significantly to the transition towards a more sustainable packaging model, reducing dependence on plastic materials wherever possible.
This partnership is not merely a technological installation, but a genuine case study of applied innovation and a significant benchmark for the solutions developed by Aetna Group.
The integration of Mondi's industrial expertise and Aetna Group's advanced technology demonstrates how the future of industrial packaging is evolving towards increasingly efficient, automated, and sustainable models.
