An initiative conceived by ICE (Italian Trade Agency) in collaboration with UCIMA (Union of Italian Manufacturers of Automatic Packaging and Processing Machines) as part of the Machines Italia Special Project.
The aim of this activity is to promote technical training in foreign countries and to propose Italy as a prestigious reference in training and attracting the best talent at an international level. An initiative that has been taking place for several years, but which was resumed this year after the last edition in 2018 and which sees Aetna Group as a protagonist Company for the first time.
The section of the project dedicated to the Italian Packaging Machinery Technology Award Program was attended by students with a background in mechanical engineering, but only the winners were given the opportunity to visit both the Castel San Pietro plant (home of the Aetna Group Headquarters) and the OCME Headquarters in Parma, as well as other top Italian Companies involved in the project in the Emilia Romagna area. In the two leading end-of-line packaging plants, the selected students will have meetings with managers and will be able to witness some of the production phases.
The students, coming from Michigan State University (USA), the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo Leó (MX) and the Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla (MX), were selected on the basis of a paper written on a topic to be chosen from among machine tools, robotics and manufacturing technologies, sustainability (economic, social and environmental) and smart factory, with special focus on the digitalisation of the machine tool and machining sector.
The company visits will be followed by the official award ceremony in Milan, at the Palazzo delle Stelline, which will be attended by students, organisers and representatives of all the trade associations involved in the project.
