The SAF Corporate (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) programme of the Franco-Dutchcompany is a response to the need to emphasise the importance of the circulareconomy in various countries' development policies even in the skies.

AetnaGroupis very sensitive about the issue of travel, being an international companywhose branches are spread out every six hour time zones across the globe.Aetna Group believes that the drive for internationalisation andbusiness needs must be combined with a responsible and sustainable growthvision.

A concrete objective of the SAF programme is toaggregate the demand of Air France KLM's corporate customers in order tosignificantly reduce the price of sustainable fuel. Statistics indicate that the airline industryalready contributes 2-3% of CO₂ emissions. Faced with the expected growth trend of global passenger airtransport over the next 30 years, it is urgent that corrective measuresare taken in order to prevent this sector from becoming responsible for morethan one fifth of global man-made carbon dioxide emissions.

Air France and KLM are committed to reducing CO₂ emissions andactively participate in the development of alternative fuels, namely Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). As compared toconventional fuels, these alternative fuels are expected to reduce CO₂emissions by at least 75% (over the course of their entire life cycle).Consequently, it is one of the most effective ways to reduce our carbonfootprint in the future.

The goal of Air France and KLM, together with their partners, isto surpass the targets set by the European Commission and blend 10% ofSAF into conventional fuels by 2030.
